Miltiádis Tentóglou, the defending men’s long jump world indoor champion, expressed his enthusiasm for the new track, noting its similarity to the one in Budapest, where he recorded a personal best of 8.38m during the 2019 European Championships. The Greek athlete is confident in his current form, stating, “> I think my form is perfect, maybe better than it’s ever been.”
Devynne Charlton of The Bahamas, the world record holder in the women’s 60m hurdles, is eager to build on her recent success. After breaking the world record in New York less than three weeks ago, Charlton believes she is in even better shape and is optimistic about her chances of winning gold in Glasgow. She acknowledges the challenge of managing the rounds but is hopeful that the record could be broken again, potentially even in the semifinals.
Italy’s Larissa Iapichino, the women’s long jump rising star, expressed her excitement about competing on the big stage, noting the high quality of jumpers and young athletes in her country.
