Coe and Ridgeon shared their predictions for the men’s and women’s 4x100m, 4x400m, and mixed relay events, with Ridgeon and Sotherton making a bold forecast for the men’s 4x400m, tipping India as a rising powerhouse in the sport.

The highlight of the discussion, however, was Ridgeon’s announcement of plans to test the viability of a mixed 4x100m event. As he explained, “The whole mixed relay thing is actually a really interesting concept, and, in many ways, we think that mixed athletics could be the future.” They will be exploring various formats and possibilities.
