World Record-Holders Kickstart Wanda Diamond League Season in Xiamen
On April 20th, the Wanda Diamond League will kickstart its season in the spectacular Egret Stadium in Xiamen, China. This highly anticipated event will feature an impressive lineup of 12 Olympic gold medalists and 27 world champions, including world athletes of the year Faith Kipyegon and Mondo Duplantis.
Kenyan sensation Kipyegon, a two-time Olympic champion and four-time world champion in the 1500m, will face a stern test as she takes on 10 women who have run the distance in under four minutes. This includes Ethiopia’s world 10,000m champion Gudaf Tsegay, who broke Kipyegon’s world 5000m record last year, and Diribe Welteji, the world road mile title holder who defeated Kipyegon in Riga.
