In addition to her prowess on the track, Tanaka also holds the Japanese records for the 1500m (3:59.19) and 3000m (8:40.84). She recently put her road racing skills to the test, clocking a swift 4:32.0 mile in Dusseldorf, showcasing her versatility across distances.

“Joining Tanaka in the women’s events will be Nanami Watanabe, who will also compete in the 5km race.”

On the men’s side, Asian 1500m silver medalist Yusuke Takahashi and Japanese indoor mile record-holder Ryoji Tatezawa will contest the road mile. In the half marathon, Japan’s hopes rest with Tomoki Ota, the third-fastest Japanese man in history with a personal best of 1:00:08.
