Great Britain and Northern Ireland Set to Field 32 Athletes at the 2023 World Athletics Relays in Bahamas

May 1, 2023 – In a strong display of talent, Great Britain and Northern Ireland will be sending a 32-athlete contingent to the upcoming World Athletics Relays event, taking place on May 4-5 in Nassau, Bahamas. The team’s impressive performance at last year’s World Championships in Budapest, where they secured medals in four out of five relay disciplines, has fueled high expectations for another successful outing.

“The performances in Budapest last summer were fantastic, but we know each year the other nations are working harder and harder on their relay programmes,” said UKA Olympic Head Coach Paula Dunn. “We cannot take anything for granted and we are going there with a clear aim to put us on the road to Paris.”

The British team will feature a formidable lineup, with experienced athletes and rising stars across the women’s and men’s 4x100m and 4x400m relays, as well as the mixed 4x400m event. The squad’s depth and versatility will be crucial as they strive to earn qualifying spots for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics.

As the world’s top athletics nations converge in the Bahamas, all eyes will be on the British contingent to see if they can replicate or even surpass their previous success on the global stage.
