US Announces Powerhouse Team for World Athletics Indoor Championships
The United States has announced a formidable team of 57 athletes set to compete at the highly anticipated World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow from March 1-3. The squad is headlined by world and Olympic champions Ryan Crouser and Katie Moon, who will lead the men’s and women’s entries, respectively.
Joining them on the star-studded US roster are reigning world champions Noah Lyles, Grant Holloway, and Chase Jackson (née Ealey). Sandi Morris, the defending world indoor pole vault champion, will look to retain her title, while world leaders Tara Davis-Woodhall, Yared Nuguse, and Shelby McEwen are also included in the team.
Women’s Contingent
The women’s contingent features a blend of experienced veterans and rising talents, including Celera Barnes, Mikiah Brisco, and Aleia Hobbs in the 60m, Talitha Diggs and Alexis Holmes in the 400m, and Nikki Hiltz and Emily Mackay in the 1500m. Vashti Cunningham and Katie Moon will spearhead the high jump and pole vault events, respectively.
Men’s Team
On the men’s side, Christian Coleman and Noah Lyles headline the 60m, while Isaiah Harris and Bryce Hoppel will compete in the 800m. The squad is further bolstered by the presence of Trey Cunningham, Grant Holloway, and Cameron Murray in the 60m hurdles, as well as shot put powerhouses Ryan Crouser and Roger Steen.
