The New Balance Indoor Grand Prix: A Star-Studded Lineup

The upcoming New Balance Indoor Grand Prix on 4 February will feature a star-studded lineup, with three world champions set to compete.

Returning to the event for the first time since 2018, Ethiopia’s Gudaf Tsegay will headline the women’s 1500m. Tsegay has been a dominant force in recent seasons, winning world titles indoors at 1500m as well as outdoors at 5000m and 10,000m. She also holds world records in the 1500m indoors and 5000m outdoors.

In the men’s 60m hurdles, the reigning world 110m hurdles champion Grant Holloway of the United States will aim for his third consecutive victory at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix. Holloway’s winning streak dates back to his high school days and he will face strong opposition from world bronze medalist Daniel Roberts and 2022 world silver medalist Trey Cunningham.

Canada’s Marco Arop, the world 800m champion from Budapest earlier this year, will make his third appearance at the event. Arop will take on the world indoor 800m champion, Mariano Garcia of Spain, as well as the world indoor bronze medalist, Bryce Hoppel of the USA.

These top-level athletes join the previously announced Noah Lyles, Gabby Thomas, and Jake Wightman, ensuring the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix will be a thrilling showcase of world-class athletics.
