Powerhouse Australian Team Primed for World Athletics U20 Championships in Lima
Australia has assembled a formidable squad of 68 athletes to compete at the upcoming World Athletics U20 Championships in Lima, Peru from August 27-31. This talented group, comprising 35 women and 33 men, is poised to make a significant impact on the global stage.
Headlining the team are rising sprint sensation Torrie Lewis, the national 100m record-holder, and global gold medalist Isaac Beacroft, who set an Oceanian U20 record in the 10km race walk at the 2024 World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships in Antalya.

Also joining the Australian contingent is middle-distance runner Claudia Hollingsworth, who is bound for the Olympic Games, and eight athletes returning from the 2022 World U20 Championships in Cali, Colombia, including triple jump bronze medalist Tiana Boras.
Sprinters Sebastian Sultana and Gout Gout, as well as the versatile Izobelle Louison-Roe, who will contest the high jump and triple jump, add depth and versatility to the squad.
With seven Australian U20 record-holders in individual events and the men’s and women’s 4x100m teams already etching their names in the record books, this team is undoubtedly one of the strongest ever assembled by Athletics Australia.
