USA Track & Field Unveils Formidable Team for World Athletics Relays Bahamas
In a move that showcases the nation’s athletic prowess, USA Track & Field has announced a team of 28 athletes set to compete at the upcoming World Athletics Relays Bahamas on May 4-5. The roster features a blend of seasoned veterans and rising stars, poised to represent the United States with distinction.
Leading the women’s 4x100m relay squad are four individuals who were instrumental in securing gold for the USA at last year’s World Championships in Budapest. Finalists Gabby Thomas and Tamari Davis will be joined by Tamara Clark and Melissa Jefferson, who contributed in the heats.
On the men’s side, triple world champion Noah Lyles, who triumphed in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m events in Budapest, will anchor the sprint relay team. Lyles will be accompanied by Olympic 200m silver medalist Kenny Bednarek and Courtney Lindsey.
The mixed 4x400m team features the reigning world champions, Alexis Holmes, Matthew Boling, and Ryan Willie, who will be joined by Bryce Deadmon, Chris Bailey, and Champion Allison.
Veteran Quanera Hayes, a multiple medalist in the 4x400m at indoor and outdoor World Championships, will lend her experience to the women’s longer relay team, which also includes Lynna Irby-Jackson and Kendall Ellis, who claimed gold in the event at the Tokyo Olympics.
“With a formidable lineup of athletes, USA Track & Field is poised to make a strong impression at the World Athletics Relays Bahamas, as they continue their pursuit of excellence on the global stage.”
